THE PROJECT

The Knowledge Project exists to create a greater foundational knowledge between Kaurna people and the wider community.

Our goal is to promote better conversations and mutual respect through shared understanding. By fostering open dialogue in a non-judgemental environment, we aim to bridge cultural gaps and strengthen community connections.

After watching our videos, viewers are invited to submit further questions anonymously, ensuring that curiosity and learning continue to thrive. These submitted questions will inform our future content, helping us address the community's evolving interests and needs.

Together, we can advance these conversations and move forward as a more united community.

ABOUT JACK

Jack Buckskin is a proud Kaurna, Narrunga, and Wirangu man who has dedicated his life to the revitalization and promotion of Aboriginal culture and language. As the only person fluent in the Kaurna language—a language once thought to be extinct—Jack has played a pivotal role in its resurgence.

In 2008, he founded Kuma Kaaru, an organization that aims to educate both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people about the local language and culture. Jack and his team work with various organizations to strengthen relationships between Aboriginal people and the wider community, empowering young people to relearn their language and culture, fostering pride in their history, and inspiring others to do the same

Help us answer your questions

Help us shape our future content by submitting questions you still have about Kaurna language, culture and customs.

Questions will help inform the creation of additional videos which will be added to the Knowledge Project annually.
